While designing the new collection, Kristen was also consulting with international business coaches and learning how to run a business through online courses and books. By the beginning of 2017, she felt like a walking business encyclopaedia, she had studied a crap ton of business ethics, strategies, and processes and had begun implementing them into KAJA. The more information she consumed, the more she wanted to share her knowledge and experience with using these new tools in her business. Kristen quickly realised that her friends and colleagues who also owned small businesses weren’t aware of the logistics behind running a successful company. In true Girl Boss style, Kristen began dishing out advice, adjusting friend’s facebook and Instagram pages. She even started helping people design business cards, register their business legally and create their own website. With a purpose and mission to help more women in business, Kristen founded THE GIRL BOSS EMPIRE. The Girl Boss Empire is a success platform for Girl Bosses everywhere! It is the GBE’s mission to empower women in business to get way out of their comfort zone and take massive action towards achieving their dreams. The Girl Boss Empire specifically helps women with small businesses, who are struggling to reach their ideal clients or scale their profits and want to level up on their business and marketing strategies. We offer one on one consultations and marketing packages to all our clients to help them reach their money goals, remove their limiting beliefs and take massive action towards dreams. Our services include – marketing advice, social media management, dream coaching and LOA (Law of Attraction) coaching.
SB-C: Tell us more about who you are. KA: My name is Kristen Alexis, I am a jewellery designer, entrepreneur and philanthropist.'m the owner of a successful jewelry design company called KAJA Creations. Throughout my journey as an entrepreneur, I've consulted with the best international business coaches in the industry, completed an online business program, graduated from Sales Training Academy and Robert Kiyosaki's Cash Flow Club. I believe in the law of attraction, the power of positive thinking, being self motivated, living life to my fullest potential, taking risks and doing everything I possibly can to create a life and business that I 100% LOVE. I am an advocate for social responsibility and community service. I believe in compassion and also calling people out on their own B.S.
SB-C: Why did you decide to start The Girl Boss Empire? AA: I started the Girl Boss Empire to empower women in business to get way out of their comfort zone and take massive action towards achieving their dreams. As women, we often stand in our own way of success through negative thought patterns and playing it safe, when what we really need to do is put on our big girl undies, get way out of our comfort zones and begin to shift the voice in our heads to a more positive and uplifting one.
SB-C: Why is marketing so important to early stage women entrepreneurs? AA: Marketing is the backbone to every successful business! It is the most important asset your business has... let me explain further, in order to reach our ideal clients, we have to get directly in front of them on a consistent and frequent basis. In 2018, we live in a digital and physical world, which means our ideal clients experience more stimuli than ever before. There is more noise to tune out (both physical and virtual) and you’re now competing with the new wave of entrepreneurs that have just entered the playing field. We have to ask ourselves these very important questions “Who is paying attention if I’m not marketing my business?” and “Who is serving my ideal clients right now, if I’m not reaching them?”
SB-C: Tell us the profile of your typical client. AA: Our ideal clients are women with small businesses' ages 25-35 who are struggling to reach their ideal clients or scale their profits and want to level up on their business and marketing strategies. Women who want sassy and bold marketing advice to propel them forward and who aren’t afraid to take massive action on their dreams to create a life and business they absolutely love.
SB-C: What services do you offer your clients? AA: Our services include – Marketing advice, practical marketing strategies, social media management, dream coaching and LOA (Law of Attraction) coaching.
SB-C: What are your goals for your business? AA: My goal is to create a thriving empire of Girl Bosses throughout the Caribbean. We aim to be the best marketing consulting company for women in the Caribbean. We believe in innovation, creativity, taking massive action, manifestation and the law of attraction.
SB-C: How would you define a Girl Boss Babe? AA: A Girl Boss Babe is a woman who isn’t afraid to ask for what she needs. She is a force to reckon with, an independent minded woman and knows without a doubt that she really can have, be or achieve anything her heart desires. Every woman has the capacity within her to be a Girl Boss Babe. It is a power that is accessible to all of us and we need to continue supporting each other on the upward journey to success and fulfilment.
SB-C: What tips do you have for our community who are growing into the Girl Boss role? AA: Get clarity on your dreams/goals! – There is no power greater than a woman who knows exactly what she wants and who isn’t afraid to ask for it! When you get really clear on what it is you’re trying to achieve, the entire Universe conspires to helping you achieve it!
Take Massive Action! – We cannot sit and wait for someone to save us, no one is coming! We have to save ourselves, and in order to do that, we need to begin going after whatever we want authentically. We need to shift gears and put in the work to have the kind of life we’ve always dreamed of. If we want the white picket fence or the travel blogger/influencer lifestyle then we have to actively participate every day in the creation of that dream. Because they don’t just happen. We have to create them!
Love yourself at all costs! – If there is one macro message that I can send to women everywhere it would definitely be self-love. I have never met any successful person, who didn’t think they were “hella awesome”. Self-love will be the driving force that drags you out of bed in the morning when you really feel like staying in, because self-love will tell you that the world needs you today and that you’re impact and presence is important.
